TO BE A CANCER SURVIVOR!

On March 27, 2007, I heard those words that no one ever expects to hear and those are "You have cancer".

Initially, the breath leaves your body and then it seems like everything around you stops. Your brain becomes mush and you really don't know what to say, you are sitting there speechless.

Once I gathered my senses I began to ask a few questions that managed to come to my muddled mind and even today I can barely remember the responses fromthe doctor.

One thing for sure I do remember, is that of asking what and how do we do what needs to be done.

The journey then began, biopsies, surgery, chemo, radiation, through it all I found that if you don't have and manage to keep a positive attitude, the cancer will consume you and take control. That I was not willing to allow to happen.

December 14th was my last radiation treatment and now the real journey begins, to remain cancer free and within my heart and mind, I know that with God's blessing my body is now healed! I AM A SURVIVOR!!!!

What Breast Cancer Cannot Do!

Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple Love
It cannot shatter Hope
It cannot corrode Faith
It cannot destroy Peace
It cannot kill Friendship
It cannot suppress Memories
It cannot silence Courage
It cannot invade the Soul
